You can add files in various ways. Once a file is in INTERDUBS, it might remember where it came from, but all files should behave the same, regardless of their origin. See also File types.

Browser upload

When you click on the upload file link in a folder your browser will allow you to select a file.

You can give the file it's INTERDUBS name at this point as well. If you leave the form blank then INTERDUBS will use the filename. It will remove the extension and replace _ characters with spaces. You can always change the name later with the file change function in the folder listing.

Once you hit upload you will see a progress bar window that shows you, how long the upload will take.

There is a limit of 2048 MByte for files that get uploaded via a web browser. You can use ftp or the droplets to overcome this limitation.

If you run firefox you can install an extension that will allow you to drag and drop a file onto the file dialog. You can download this extension from here

Multi file browser upload

If you like to upload multiple files, you can choose the multiple files upload function. Up to ten files can be uploaded with one page. You can not set a new file name for those files. Apart from that the function works exactly like the single file browser upload.

droplet

If you use Apples OS X operating system then you can generate a droplet by clicking on the generate droplet icon. INTERDUBS will generate a droplet file for you that will be downloaded in a dmg file. If you open this dmg file, you will find an application that you should store somewhere on your computer. The name of the droplet will be that of the folder that you have created it in. The droplet knows which page you have created it on: Files that you drop on it it will upload into that folder inside of INTERDUBS. There is no file size limit with this method. The droplet will ignore folders and files that already exist will be added a second time.

You can keep the droplet for instance in you dock or on your desktop. Nothing stops you from having multiple droplets for the INTERDUBS projects that you are currently working on.

There is no progress bar indicator but you can see the droplet as a running process as long as it is busy uploading your content. I considered to add a audible 'chime' once the upload is done. Let me know if you would find this to be helpful.

ftp

There is also a general ftp gateway for each INTERDUBS client segment. See the link for details.
