Raised as a military brat, KEVIN EMMONS traveled and lived extensively throughout the U.S. From a young age he carried a camera documenting all his travels, photography became a lifelong passion.
Kevin's directing niche is best described as Stylized Documentaries. This extension of his longstanding fascination with documenting the human lifestyle is enriched by a well-rounded aesthetic and art appreciation background and a love of travel and the environment.
After graduating from the University of Colorado, Kevin spent several years filming documentaries in locations that included China, Russia, Tibet and Cuba which aired on PBS and all the major networks.
Continuing his passion for cinematography he moved quickly on to the world of advertising, using his craft to shoot spots for everything from fashion to table top, sports to celebrities and effects to lifestyle.
Kevin has DPd for many of the top commercial directors shooting well over 1,500 national TV spots including Reebok, Ford, Kraft, Coke, McDonald's, and Budweiser. Many of his spots have aired on the coveted Super Bowl and his images have won awards at local and national levels including Addy's, Telly's and Clio's. He is also one of the few commercial DPs inducted into the prestigious Society of Operating Cameramen (SOC).
Kevin has written articles for several industry publications, is a Director of Photography in Local 600, and most recently became a member of the Directors Guild of America.
