Áine's style can be defined as aesthetic realism. Her talent for casting and working with both actors and real people, combined with her passion for classical film language, creates beautiful film that has power, energy and inspiration. First and foremost Áine is a storyteller whose attention to realism sets her apart.
2009 was a benchmark year for Áine. Folllowing her work with McLaren on LifeScan, shot at Mount Everest basecamp, which aired during the Winter Olympics, her short film The Last Dragon Kingdom had a stellar run on the international Film Festival circuit winning many awards including selection as a Finalist in the Tribute to the Art of Visual Filmmaking at the 2009 CineGear Expo. Áine was featured in the 2009 SHOOT Magazine New Directors to Watch Showcase and recently helmed casting for the Sony/Intel Rocket Project, a multiplatform, branded content documentary for 180LA. Áine embraces the multiplatform New Media model as an unlimited creative opportunity.
Áine is a citizen of both the EU and USA. She travels extensively worldwide directing commercials, short films, documentaries, music videos and events. Her passion is translating the essence of a culture and a brand. Currently she is working on her first long form project with partner David Emery, a dramatic feature film entitled Get Karma, which is set in a small Buddhist Kingdom called Bhutan. Áine will be the first western director to shoot a dramatic feature in Bhutan, a country know as the Greenest Place on Earth. Often asked why she has such a passion for advertising she replies, "If I can sell Pepsi, I can sell Peace. Advertising provides so much possibility for changing our world. I want to be an element of that change."
Áine attended Pratt University for Art Direction, Painting & Photography, NYU Tisch School of the Arts for Directing, USC Professional Writing Program, and Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Performing Arts for Acting and Directing. Two of the most influential people in her directing career are her longtime mentor William Esper and DGA award-winning director James Gartner. Áine also has a Masters in Counseling Psychology and was one of the finalists in the prestigious DGA / ABC / Disney Fellowship Program.
